Three hundred years ago, Hvitr repelled Gildarth, the Queen of Ashes, and the army of Cendrenfer. With his hammer, he sealed the Horn of Hvitr, the volcano through which they had invaded our world. Today, the Horn of Hvitr rumbles, and strange shadows roam the ruins of the monastery once built on the side of the volcano. Villagers from Meervold are disappearing one by one.
What will you do?

Servants of the Ash Queen is a scenario for Dungeon World written by Jason Lutes and illustrated by Keny Widjaja. In this adventure, the Adventurers will thwart the plans of a pyromaniac demigoddess and the half-mad sorcerer who has fallen in love with her. The action takes place in the gloomy ruins of a monastery buried under a lava flow, right up to the mouth of a volcano about to erupt.

Les Serviteurs de la Reine des Cendres (The Servants of the Queen of Ashes) is a fantastic module. Behind its ‘classic’ façade lies a dark adventure, a dungeon with a strong theme, a desperate race against time, and much more. The “dungeon” is well characterised, both in terms of its ‘buried monastery’ and ‘awakening volcano’ aspects. The characters (NPCs and monsters) are colourful, and each offers interesting gameplay options.

The Servants of the Queen of Ashes offers all this in just 24 pages. It is a module with high play potential. This module is a killer (as in TPK, but not only).
