Railroad Moguls is an expansion that introduces new mechanics to Roll and Rails. It contains totally new Roll and Rails game variant. In the basic version of the game you were the ones running your own railroad companies, each player deciding on the expansion of his company. In Rairoad Moguls, all players roll five companies. You bid for shares, and the person who has the majority stake controls a particular company at a given time, but in subsequent turns it is the other players who can take control. Your ultimate goal is to have a pool of shares that will make you the richest of the players at the end of the game.
Parts of the rules are the same as in the basic variant of the game. In order to play this variant effectively, you have to be familiar with the base game manual for Roll and Rails.
