Snow as far as the eye can see… After days of travelling, we have finally arrived in the Valley of the Ancients. Without further ado, we threw ourselves into the adventure. The excavations begin!
Our objective? To uncover the Nuukas’ treasures buried beneath the ice, then bring them back to the City to examine them.
Players take on the role of archaeologists exploring tiles which they can remove. The game features five levels of tiles. The first corresponds to the ice cap level. The second, third and fourth represent the surface, intermediate and deep artefact levels respectively. The final level is the structures level.
The archaeologists excavate these tiles to collect artefacts which earn them reputation points. Ice cap tiles removed by a player can be used as a help action for themselves. ‘Building’ tiles alter the rules of the game and constitute ‘legacy’ elements to be discovered as the game progresses.
