He is accompanied by his son, Crassus Iunior, a skilled and courageous general, who had been trained in Caesar’s first campaigns in Gaul. His archenemy, Surena, responsible for his defeat and death at Carrhae, shares a box with both of them, ready to put his genius at the service of the Parthian armies. Crassus’ legions do not know what is coming, but with the help of the fearless vigiles and numerous eastern mercenaries, such as the Galatian legionaries and the Rhodian slingers, they may be able to defeat fate and change the history of the world. If not, the survivors of Carrhae can always make a name for themselves in the service of the armies of the distant Han Empire, beyond the other end of the Orb known to the Romans.
