An abnormally powerful vampire, Count Dracula is a Transylvanian nobleman intent on leaving his native land to drink the lifeblood coursing through London, the heart of the British Empire. Wholly evil, the Count is a powerful necromancer who can assume the form of wolf or bat, control the weather and turn the living into Un-Dead servants. It seems impossible that mere mortals could succeed in defeating powers ‘which mere modernity cannot kill’.
Lucy Westernra was once Mina’s best friend, a vivacious and desirable young woman courted by Holmwood, Seward, and Morris. Dracula’s seduction of her, and her subsequent transformation into a vampire, dispels her innocence and virtue. Now known as the Bloofer Lady, she haunts her graveyard, preying on passing children and seducing the cemetery’s unsuspecting grave diggers.
