Jonathan Harker is an intelligent (if naïve) young solicitor sent to Castle Dracula to conclude the Count’s purchase of the Carfax Estate near Purfleet, London. Despite his curiosity and determination, he is driven half-mad by his experiences in the castle and eventually returns to England deeply traumatised. With the support of his wife, Mina, he regains his strength and joins the fight against Dracula with courage and resolve.
Resourceful, perceptive, and kind, Mina Harker (née Murray) is an assistant schoolmistress devoted to assisting her fiancée and later husband, Jonathan. She is the embodiment of purity, faith, and innocence. Nevertheless, her capacity to assimilate and correlate information from diverse documents and recordings marks her as a formidable intellectual force. Despite falling victim to Dracula’s malign influence, she continues to play a vital role in the Count’s eventual destruction
