Every port is naturally frightened when it sees enemy ships on the horizon, so defenses are put in place and military forces are on the alert.
If the ships in sight bear the markings of the Jutland Scions, the situation is even more desperate. No quarter will be given, no surrender accepted and no mercy shown.
Although operating under a Kriegsministerium letter of marque, the Jutland Scions have their own hierarchy, following the auguries of Volva Gullveig, the Witch of Jutland. A patron from one of the great powers may try to employ the Scions' services privately, but Gullveig has her own ancestral motivations that guide her decisions and, ultimately, the contracts undertaken by the group. Few know why she does what she does, but no one can question her effectiveness.
Often, a battle fleet is led by a fast Valhalla battleship, whose twin Sturmbringers and forward-mounted batteries of heavy guns deliver a devastating punch before eager marines perform a decisive boarding action. Rarer but no less impressive are the Asgard transporters, surrounded by swarms of Valkyrie fighter rotors, unleashing their fury from the sky like their mythical namesakes.
