Every generation it emerges from its resting place at the bottom of the great ravine on waving tentacles, and its massive fat mass ravages the earth before returning to sleep for decades. The Great Beast strikes smartly: bands of faceless, gray-robed men emerge from the murky depths, gathering the beast's wandering tentacles before them.
