Two crazy days at the Shepheard Hotel

Álex de la Iglesia (film director, screenwriter, producer, and experienced role-player) gives us his personal take on The Call of Cthulhu in the 1920s. In this adventure, investigators have two days to stop the unexplained phenomena affecting the staff and guests of Cairo's most luxurious hotel.

Farce Macabre combines a free-form investigation structure with scheduled events, so that the gaming experience is different for each group and the scenario can be easily replayed. In addition, thanks to the tools at their disposal, the Keeper can add random elements to the plot at any time without ever losing the thread of the story.

In this race against time, investigators will uncover secrets buried since ancient Egypt, attend a lavish costume party, see the premiere of the film Häxan (Witchcraft Through the Ages), meet real-world figures (archaeologist Howard Carter, King Fuad I of Egypt, Aga Khan III, director Benjamin Christensen, or even Agatha Christie and Winston Churchill) and encounter familiar faces from Call of Cthulhu. But they could also miss all of that and uncover another mystery to investigate.

This book contains:

  • Introductions to the many main characters.
  • A step-by-step timeline of events, and another timeline for the year 1922.
  • A detailed description of the hotel, with more than thirty different locations.
  • The spells, artifacts, Mythos tomes, and other monsters related to the plot.
  • Random lists featuring numerous secondary characters, rumors, and unexplained phenomena.
  • A fold-out diagram allowing the Keeper to track the movements of NPCs.
  • A fold-out map of the hotel for players.
A copy of the Keeper's Handbook for Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition is required to use this supplement.
