A campaign in 1920s Asia.
September 1923: an “urgent and mysterious telegram” sent by an American adventurer launches the investigators on an epic journey that takes them to China, Central Asia, northern India and the secret regions of Tibet. Following in the footsteps of the famous Buddhist monk and explorer Hiuen-Tsiang (Xuanzang), immortalized in the Chinese fantasy saga Peregrination to the West, they will visit ancient temples, lost lakes, dusty museums, mass graves, venerable monasteries and secret valleys in their quest to stop the “King of Fear” and his lieutenants from destroying everything they hold dear.
Children of Fear is a multi-part campaign set in the 1920s, exploring some of the myths and legends of Central Asia and Northern India. It is designed to leave all decisions to the players, whose investigators will be free to choose their itinerary. What's more, the flexible plot allows the creatures of the Cthulhu Mythos to be integrated on a variety of scales, whether the Keeper wishes to involve the Outer Gods themselves or is aiming for a more subdued adventure focused on the occult. You'll find advice on how to adapt it to your group.
Eight chapters cover all the places to visit, encounters and dangers the group will discover in Beijing, Sian, Taklamakan, Peshawar and Kham, to name but a few of the locations on the campaign, which will take them through China, northern India and Tibet. The book contains detailed appendices devoted to travel, non-player characters, spells, reference works and more.

What is Call of Cthulhu?
Call of Cthulhu is Chaosium's role-playing game dedicated to investigation and horror in the world of the Cthulhu Mythos. Players take on the role of investigators of the strange, the occult and the unknown: ordinary people who resist at the risk of their lives and souls. Faced with singular cults, bizarre spells and otherworldly monsters, they alone can save humanity and the world from the abominations that threaten them.
