Welcome to the Guilde des Francs-Lanciers! But before you set off on your Guild mission, you'll need to answer a few essential questions. For example, to which Empyrean people do you belong? Are you a hermaphrodite ælfyn, a reptilian agamide, a biomechanical disembodied or even a Kérane refugee? Did you grow up on the streets of Patéra, the cosmopolitan Crater City, or in another Empyrean metropolis? In short, who are you and where do you come from? 

The purpose of this Player's Guide is to help you answer these questions. You'll find all the background information you need to define your character: an introduction to the world of Empyrea, its peoples, factions and issues. It also includes a reminder of the game's basic principles, and a blank character sheet.

This booklet is a compilation of texts taken from previously published or forthcoming works: the Rules & Universe book, the Discovery Booklet, certain issues of the Écho Éthérique and the forthcoming Planet Caravan supplement. Some of these extracts have been updated to reflect the latest developments in the world of Empyréa.

While not intended to replace these works, this Guide brings together in a few pages essential information about the world of Empyrea, its peoples, factions and issues. A Game Master wishing to launch a Lore & Legacy table can therefore send this booklet to his players in advance of the game, so that they can familiarize themselves with the game setting and have all the keys they need to create their characters.
