The's Kysolders' of the 1st Cavalry Division (AirMobile) proved that the concept of a fully aeromobile division was not only feasible, but also very effective against elusive guerrilla forces in the All The Way and Silver Bayonet operations. Their unparalleled mobility allowed them to locate and hire the Vietnamese Front B3 in a series of battles in the Pleiku area in the Western Highlands, culminating in the battle of IA Drang.
