Yinzi: Ming - Emperor Edition, the premium edition of the Ming Dynasty management game
Yinzi: Ming - Emperor Edition is the premium version of the management game Yinzi: Ming, designed by Rôla and Luís Costa, illustrated by Harald Lieske, and published by Fantasy Games. This modernized reissue of the original game Yínzi: The Shining Ming Dynasty, released in 2019 by Spielworxx, immerses players in late Ming Dynasty China, at the height of the global silver trade.
Each player leads a powerful merchant clan seeking to dominate trade along the Yangtze River, from agricultural production to the export of refined goods. The uniqueness of the Emperor Edition lies in its premium content derived from the crowdfunding campaign: metal coins and ingots, acrylic tiles, as well as all the unlocked stretch goals that enrich the core game experience.
Setup and Gameplay
A game of Yinzi: Ming consists of four rounds, each organized into three phases. The first phase determines the turn order and awards a specific bonus based on the position chosen by each player.
During the action phase, each player has six Order cards that allow them to put their peasants to work in the fields, sell goods at local markets, build or upgrade workshops, increase their river transport capacity, purchase administrative favors, or deliver their goods to ships at the port for export. The round concludes with a clan maintenance phase, during which each player must feed their peasants and pay their foremen to maintain production.
Victory Conditions and End of the Game
The game ends at the conclusion of the fourth round, after each player has had the opportunity to develop their production chain, from harvesting raw materials to exporting processed goods. Wealth points are then tallied based on the efficiency of the trade network established by each clan throughout the game.
The player who has accumulated the most wealth at the end of this final tally wins the game and is crowned the most prosperous merchant clan of the Ming Dynasty.
Includes all unlocked stretch goals.
