Flames of War - Kätzchen Armoured Personnel Carrier

Description

The Gepanzerter Mannschaftstransportwagen Kätzchen (Armoured Personnel Carrier Kitten) was designed as a replacement for the long-serving Sd Kfz 251 half-track. It offered several improvements over the half-track including well-sloped armoured protection, fully-tracked mobility, and increased speed.

The X-7 Rotkäppchen (Red Riding Hood) antitank missile can also be mounted on the Kätzchen APC. The X-7 missile was designed and developed by Ruhrstahl AG in 1943 after the Heereswaffenamt (Army Ordnance Board) placed an order for anti-tank missiles.

The X-7 Rotkäppchen is a wire-guided rocket powered missile with its detonation achieved by use of an impact fuse. It was first used operationally on the Eastern Front, and it appears that this missile was extremely effective, even against the heavy armoured Stalin tanks.

This box contains:
  • 2x resin and metal Kätzchen Armoured Personnel Carriers
