Flames of War - Blitzkrieg - Hotchkiss H35 & H39 Tank Platoon 

While the Renault R35 was intended to fight alongside the Char B1, a faster light tank was required to accompany the Somua S35. This was the Hotchkiss H35. However, it proved to be only marginally faster than the R35. Its short 37mm SA-18 gun has poor anti-tank capability. 

A longer 37mm SA-38 gun was developed, and by May 1940 they had enough to begin upgrading guns. The Hotchkiss H39 improves on the H35 with a new more powerful 120 hp engine giving it the speed it requires for its role as a cavalry tank. Like the H35, the new long gun is also fitted to the H39 improving its combat power greatly.
