Description

Dungeon Cube: A Fantasy Dungeon Crawl Inside a Twisty Puzzle

Dungeon Cube offers a fresh take on fantasy adventure games by turning the game board itself into a Rubik's Cube style twisty puzzle. Each face of the cube features one of six adventurers at its center, surrounded by symbols representing weapons, spells, enemies, and items. Players take on the role of one of these heroes and must complete a mission by physically manipulating the cube to align the symbols needed for their progress through the dungeon. This spatial manipulation mechanic sets Dungeon Cube apart from traditional adventure games: it calls for logic, anticipation, and three-dimensional thinking, since every rotation affects several faces of the cube at once. The game's originality lies in this fusion of mechanical puzzle solving and dungeon crawler storytelling, supported by a companion app that drives the solo story mode.

Setup and Gameplay in Dungeon Cube Setting up Dungeon Cube is quick:

each player picks an adventurer and takes their mission sheet, then holds the cube so their own face is visible. On a turn, a player can make as many lateral rotations as they like, since these remain free and unlimited. Only two vertical rotations are then allowed, and these are the ones that actually let the player align their hero with the weapon, spell, or enemy symbols needed to complete a step of their mission. The game can be played solo, competitively with each player working toward their own objective, or cooperatively, with players sharing the resources visible on the cube to progress together through the dungeon's challenges.
Victory Conditions and End of Game in Dungeon Cube
A game of Dungeon Cube ends once an adventurer has completed every step of their mission by aligning the right symbols on their face of the cube.
In competitive mode, the first player to complete their objective wins the game. In cooperative mode, victory is shared and depends on the group's ability to solve the common objectives before the mission fails.
In solo play, the story mode offers a branching narrative progression, with each mission outcome leading to a different ending of the adventure.
