It's the age of the Vikings, of raiding, pillaging and sailing the seas to explore the wilderness.
For a hundred years, a never-ending winter of supernatural storms has ravaged the northern lands, driving men from the north. As the storms recede, they leave a frozen land in their wake, overrun with mythical creatures and terrifying demons. Ugly trolls attack local villages, and towering ice giants roam the hills, feeding on livestock and unlucky travelers! The sky grows darker and darker as Odin and the gods of Asgard seem to have abandoned this place. While most people flee in terror, a few heroic Viking clans rise up against the darkness and set out on an expedition into the unknown.

Shadows of Brimstone - Gates of Valhalla is a fast-paced, dungeon-crawler-style cooperative board game set in the Viking Age and mixed with indescribable horror!
Each player creates a character, taking on the role of a classic Viking hero archetype, such as a Jarl chief, a Huscarl honor guard, a Berserker or a Raider. Forming a group of heroes, players take their characters into the dark forests of the Nordic lands, invaded by mythical and legendary creatures. This adventure game features an 8-part narrative campaign on the Gates of Valhalla, but this is just the beginning of the saga of your Heroes. Explore the northern lands, make dangerous encounters and battle savage creatures, while collecting useful equipment and ancient artifacts to aid your adventures.

Thanks to a robust campaign system, hero characters can be retained from game to game, gaining experience and leveling up to improve their skills and acquire new abilities. Heroes can also build and customize their expedition camp between adventures, spend their hard-earned loot and resupply for the next mission.

So grab your axe, don your furs and gather your war party. The darkness is coming, and the Vikings are ready to earn their place of honor... at the gates of Valhalla!
