The British Way: Counterinsurgency at the End of Empire 2nd Printing

Description

Wargames on British counterinsurgency operations in Palestine, Malaysia, Kenya, and Cyprus.

The British Way: Counterinsurgency at the End of Empire 2nd Printing is the first in a series of COIN box sets, comprising four separate wargames that explore a series of thematically linked insurgencies. Between 1945 and 1960, the British conducted four major “emergencies,” as they called their counterinsurgency campaigns, each aimed at managing their withdrawal from the empire.

The four games in this pack focus on exploring British counterinsurgency responses to various adversaries, including:

  • Communist insurgents in Malaysia
  • Militant nationalists in Kenya
  • Clandestine terrorist organizations in Palestine and Cyprus

The games adapt the core mechanics of COIN to offer a new way for two players to manage conflicts, while streamlining several mechanics to speed up gameplay.

Contents

  • Two double-sided 17“ x 22” mounted game boards
  • Four game event decks and one campaign event deck
  • 54 wooden pieces
  • Eight pawns
  • One full-color counter sheet
