Endangered: Australia – Deluxe KS Edition is a major expansion for the cooperative board game Endangered, published by Grand Gamers Guild. It enriches the base game with new scenarios, brand-new mechanics, and a political layer centered on Australian conservation efforts.
How it plays: As in the base game, players take on roles (Zoologist, Philanthropist, TV Wildlife Host…) and work together to save species from extinction. The game is played over several "years": players must influence a panel of ambassadors to pass a conservation resolution before the animal population dies out or habitat destruction becomes irreversible.
New scenarios:
- The Great Barrier Reef: restore coral health and manage a predator-prey chain to keep the ecosystem in balance.
- The Giant Barred Frog: introduces an invasive species removal mechanic (the Cane Toads).
- The Koala: features the new "Attachments" mechanic, which alters tactical decisions.
- The Tasmanian Devil and the Bunyip: bonus scenarios (Kickstarter/Deluxe exclusives).
New features & highlights:
- The Prime Minister: a powerful new role with 8 unique cards, letting players wield government authority.
- New ambassadors, including the Power Broker, who builds influence automatically.
- Uniquely Australian environmental threats: bushfires, chytrid fungus…
- Premium components and Kickstarter-exclusive content (custom dice, unlocked stretch goals…).
