It's the middle of the 2nd century BC... The small village where you grew up is located in the heart of Gaul, in the land of the Lingons. People still talk about your father, a valiant warrior who once distinguished himself in the resistance to the invading Germans...

But right now, the country is in the grip of a nightmare. Bragtodius, a ruthless brute, has raised an army of corrupt and bloodthirsty mercenaries, and is cutting Gaul to shreds...
