The Lord of the Rings: The Confrontation is a strategy game for two players in which one plays the Dark Lord Sauron, while the other represents the intrepid Fellowship of the Ring.

Through hidden movements, clever card plays, and bluffs, the Fellowship seeks to advance Frodo Baggins to Mordor to destroy the One Ring, while Sauron seeks to seize the Ring: the only thing the Dark Lord needs to rule the lands of Middle-earth.
