Imperator is a historical role-playing game by Bruno Guérin set during the long period spanning the end of the Republic and the beginning of the Roman Empire. It is a time of transition marked by the turmoil and fear of change. In these turbulent times, the old Republic is transforming, giving opportunists their chance. Ancient Roman beliefs are being challenged by the emergence of new religions imported from the far reaches of the Empire, though myths and legends persist. On rare occasions, your path may cross that of a fantastical creature, or you may witness the magic of Terra Incognita. In these troubled times, even the gods might lend you their support if your exploits catch their attention.
Imperator is a heroic role-playing game in which players embody heroes for whom only Glory matters—whether fleeting or enduring—for it alone will etch their names into eternity. Your characters will achieve Glory by pushing beyond their limits, through victories or the conquest of territories, until they climb the highest rungs of power.
