The Ho-Ro was built on a modified Chi-Ha chassis. A 15cm Type 15 howitzer was mounted on it. The crew was protected by an open turret with 25 mm of armor at the front, but was unprotected on the sides and rear, making the vehicle extremely vulnerable in close combat.
