The Restless Dead

Description

THE RESTLESS DEAD: TRUE TALES OF GASTS AND GEISTS IN THE RAINY CITY, by William Wandless and Bill Spytma, explores several haunting stories of the many ghostly spirits still inhabiting the city alongside the living. It is the second zine in a new series of Rainy City zines, called THE LESSER KEY OF THE SANDESTIN, showcasing several curious and distinct areas of life and lore in the Rainy City–a doomed fantasy metropolis at the end of the world where wizards guard their rotting magical tomes, gargoyles leer from the rain-drenched rooftops, and thieves prowl through the closes and back alleys looking for scores, all while the rains never stop!

The RESTLESS DEAD is a companion zine to A VISITOR'S GUIDE TO THE RAINY CITY. However, unlike that system-neutral zine, the RESTLESS DEAD is built to work with Into the Odd by Chris McDowall, using the Mark of the Odd license. That being said, much of the world-building in the zine remains system-neutral, meaning any busy GM needing quick flavor or interesting content can use the RESTLESS DEAD for their own campaigns without much work.

Includes :
  • At 24 pages, over 15 pieces of unique art, and over 5,000 words, RESTLESS DEAD details some of the more notable haunts, gasts, and geists lingering in the city:
  • Beezer Bream, the silent signalman who haunts the Headlands;
  • Gideon Grumm, ringmaster of the traveling Phantasmal Fiesta;
  • Jaunty Jenks, the broken boulder that drums in the depths;
  • Livra Langham, a rare symbol of enduring honor;
  • Lord Auberon's Audacious Players, a tragedy staged without curtains;
  • Ma Olive, the watchful widow in love with a lie;
  • Pangborn Abbey, Sennah the Strandcaster's unsettling treasury;
  • The Red Revenants, the ones who rage against the clarity of rain;
  • Traihern Tripp, the woeful bogey of Bog End;
  • The Whispering Brigantine, setting sail for lost waters; and
  • Motley Madej, enigmatic hunter of housebound haints.
