Tormentas del Corazón: passionate drama and supernatural intrigue for Pasión de las Pasiones
Published by Magpie Games and designed by Brandon Leon-Gambetta alongside Brendan Conway, Tormentas del Corazón (Storms of the Heart) is the first major expansion for the acclaimed tabletop roleplaying game Pasión de las Pasiones. Operating on the Powered by the Apocalypse (PbtA) engine, this sourcebook takes players beyond classic family hacienda drama into the wild, historical, and supernatural subgenres of Latin American telenovelas. From gothic vampire romances to swashbuckling pirate sagas, this book vastly expands your repertoire of romance, secrets, and betrayal. The book features:
- Nine brand-new character playbooks capturing iconic and dramatic television archetypes.
- Ten fully realized playsets transporting your melodrama into historical, supernatural, and heroic settings.
- Integrated mechanics for dark magic, ancestral curses, and haunting apparitions.
New playbooks, diverse playsets, and supernatural drama
This expansion provides gamemasters and players with rich narrative tools to power multiple dramatic seasons:
- Bold dramatic archetypes: Command theatrical characters like The Witch (La Bruja), The Heir (El Heredero), The Patriarch (El Abuelo), The Pirate (La Pirata), or The Usurper (La Usurpadora).
- Genre-bending playsets: Play out teen superhero drama in La Casa del Átomo, dive into gothic vampire passion in Sangre, el último amor, or stage telenovela tropes across high-fantasy realms and dusty frontier Westerns.
- Passion moves and occult mechanics: Deploy love curses, psychic bonds, and spectral visitations to trigger shocking cliffhangers at the end of every episode.
Who is this dramatic expansion built for?
Tormentas del Corazón is tailored for gamemasters and tabletop groups eager to push emotional melodrama and improvisational storytelling to their absolute extremes.
