Barbarians & Merchants, an expansion for the CATAN strategy game

It offers new challenges that will delight all explorers. It includes 5 brand-new scenarios, which can be played one after another to form a campaign, and 4 rule variations that will enrich your games.

The Big-Hearted Thief, The Adventures of CATAN, The Ports of CATAN, and CATAN for 2 are the four rule variants included. In the first, a thief targets only players who already have a certain number of victory points. In the second, dice are replaced by Adventure cards that alter the element of chance. The third features a race to the ports and a bonus tile. Finally, the last one allows for exciting 2-player duels.

The scenarios take you on a grand adventure: exploit a fish-filled lake, search for gold along a river, set up your caravan near an oasis, fend off a horde of barbarians, and then rebuild the island’s castle. Each module can be played on its own or linked together to create a cohesive and immersive campaign.
