Matches unfold over five rounds filled with calculated tactical trade-offs:
- Drafting dice and board actions: Players take turns selecting a die from the central pool to slot into their personal board. The die color unlocks specific clan actions (movement, scavenging, building, or taxation), while its numerical face activates hero cards from your hand.
- The critical thirteen-point threshold: Reaching a cumulative dice total of thirteen or higher triggers your clan's unique special power for game-changing combos.
- Archipelago skirmishes: Send governors to claim island influence, dispatch scavengers into ruins to extract ancient relics, and deploy shadows to assassinate rival figures.
- Erecting vital structures: Construct techno-farms to generate steady resource harvests and raise radio towers to project sweeping regional influence.
Territorial majorities and crowning the new emperor
The match concludes after five intense rounds to determine the future ruler of the realm:
- Calculating Popularity Points: Score major victory points through round-by-round island majorities, fully restored technological relics, and completed infrastructure.
- Military strength and treasury rewards: Leaders assembling the largest standing armies via hero cards and hoarding gold reserves earn decisive endgame bonuses.
- Ascending the throne: The participant commanding the highest overall popularity score wins the game and claims the imperial throne.
