The M10 Wolverine was an American tank destroyer used during World War II, designed to counter enemy armour with speed and firepower. Based on the M4 Sherman chassis, it was armed with a 3-inch (76.2mm) gun, giving it strong anti-tank capabilities. Unlike tanks, it had an open-topped turret, which improved visibility but left the crew vulnerable to enemy fire and weather.
The M10 played a key role in North Africa, Italy, Normandy, and the Western Front, where it engaged German tanks like the Panzer IV and Panther. Though not as heavily armoured as enemy tanks, its mobility and firepower allowed it to excel in ambush and flanking tactics. While later replaced by more advanced tank destroyers, the M10 was a vital asset in U.S. and Allied armoured warfare.
