Unit 3x M3 Halftracks
The M3 Half-track was an American armored personnel carrier used extensively during World War II. Combining wheeled mobility with tracked suspension, it provided excellent off-road capability while maintaining speed on roads. It could transport up to 10 troops and was typically armed with a .50 caliber M2 machine gun for defense.
The M3 played a crucial role in North Africa, Italy, Normandy, and the Western Front, serving as a troop carrier, command vehicle, and weapons platform for mortars and anti-aircraft guns. Its versatility and reliability made it a key asset for U.S. and Allied forces, enabling rapid infantry movement and mechanized warfare. The M3 remained in service beyond World War II, influencing future armored personnel carrier designs.
On our tabletop battlefield this halftrack offers both a motorised infantry option to rush troops into the front line as well as a platform for a HMG. This model can be made with or without the canvas top in the pictures so it offers brilliant flexibility as well as utility.
