Create masterful films, but watch out for Communists slipping propaganda into them!

It's 1947, and you're part of Hollywood's thriving film industry.

However, Communists are suspected of infiltrating your small studio and slipping "unpatriotic propaganda" into the films. Congress is furious.

Will you manage to unmask the Communists before the studio closes?

Or will you be one of the suspects added to the industry's blacklist?

In Hollywood 1947, each player will secretly be a patriot, a communist or a rising star. Each turn, each player will have a unique job to perform (such as screenwriter, goofball, director, actor, editor, etc.).

These duties affect the type of film that will be made that turn, the cards players have in hand, and who will receive special information. Players can choose to ignore their work and re-roll two of the game's dice. At the end of each turn, players with starred dice can add a card to the film.

The added cards are shuffled, one is removed and the others are revealed. The team with the most symbols revealed (including the symbols on the film poster) wins the round! The winning team of the round is determined by placing the corresponding film strip on the film poster.

The first team to win 4 rounds wins the game!

The Rising Star has it both ways, trying to keep the game going for up to 7 rounds and ensuring that the 7th round is a draw.
