Expédition: Northwest Passage HMS Terror Edition

Description

Sail your boat and ride your sled in an icy race to find the Northwest Passage.

In 1845, Sir John Franklin led an expedition on behalf of the British Royal Navy to find and explore the last part of the Northwest Passage in the Canadian Arctic. The Royal Navy provided Franklin with two ships (HMS Terror and HMS Erebus) filled with scientific equipment, 1,000 pounds, a crew of 128 men and enough food for three years.

They left England in May and encountered whalers along the west coast of Greenland in August, before waiting for more favorable weather conditions to cross Lancaster Sound. Then, in due course, they sailed off into uncharted waters, never to be heard from again...

Their disappearance caused much public unrest, and numerous British and American expeditions tried to trace them.

As leaders of these expeditions in Expedition: Northwest Passage HMS Terror Edition , players must venture into these dangerous Arctic waters to discover Franklin's fate and succeed where he had failed: by finding the Northwest Passage. Players assign crew members to their ship or sled to perform various actions, such as exploring, moving or gathering clues about the location of the expedition.
