Mission Planète Rouge : Nouvelle Edition

Description

Launch your rockets and sabotage the competition for control of Mars!

With the rapid development of technology and the growing human population, Victorian Earth is in urgent need of fuel, land and other natural resources. Fortunately, automatic probes sent to Mars have discovered celesium, a mineral that can be burned to produce ten thousand times more energy than a steam engine, and sylvanite, the densest substance ever found.

Even more incredible, the probes found ice that could be used to terraform the planet, bringing the idea of colonizing Mars even closer to reality.

As the head of a mining company, these minerals and ice found on Mars could make you incredibly rich - if you can get to them before your competitors.

You have ten turns to send your astronauts into space, occupy the planet's most resource-rich areas and harvest as much celium, sylvanite and ice as possible. You have a team of nine professionals at your disposal.

Each has unique skills, from helping your astronauts cross the Red Planet to blowing up spaceships before launch.

On each turn of Mission: Red Planet, players begin by secretly deploying one of their character cards. This card determines both when they place astronauts on spaceships awaiting launch to Mars, and the special actions they undertake during the turn.

Each spaceship has a specific destination, and until an astronaut sets foot in a region, no one knows what resources he or she will find there. Players collect resources (worth points) three times during the game, and they each have a secret mission card that can award them extra points at the end of the game.

During the course of the game, players can acquire an additional mission or research card that changes the value of what awaits them on Mars.
