Your mission is to build and maintain a town in this hostile landscape. You must clear away the accumulating snow, light fires to keep your citizens warm and prosperous, and complete important quests for the Rangers' Guild.
In Everdell Silverfrost - Essential Edition, you send creature workers to different locations on the board, on cards, or in the mountains to collect resources and activate unique effects. You use these resources to place cards face up in front of you and form your own town. Each turn, you perform one of three possible actions: place a worker, play a card, or prepare for the next season.
You can place one of your workers on any base location, on a red destination card in your town or your opponents' towns, at the Forge, at the Hot Springs, or on a beacon at the top of a mountain, as long as it is not blocked by Snow or another worker. Then collect the indicated resources or perform the action.
If there is snow at that location, you must first spend a Fire resource to clear the snowdrift. If you use your unique Ranger worker, you can visit an occupied location or obtain a Fire resource if you go there alone.
