KIW007LE
A king, once happy in his magnificent castle, sees his domain attacked and destroyed. After months of despair, he decides to rebuild his castle even more beautiful and asks his subjects to restore it from the ruins. He promises to reward the best among them with gold.
But each tower is built in its own color, and players must remember where the different elements are among the ruins scattered around the castle.
Once the pieces of the tower have been collected, it's time to build—without knocking anything down!
In Castel Boom, players try to rebuild the castle towers by spending gold coins. The board with the bases of the 3 towers is placed in the center of the players, and the 24 Stair tokens, with the neutral side facing up, are placed around the edge. The Stair tokens are neutral on the front and the color of one of the 3 towers on the back.
On their turn, players flip a Stair token and place it in front of them, then flip a second one. If it is the same color as the first one, they take it. They continue and turn over a third staircase token, which they take if it is still the same color, and so on until they turn over a staircase token of a different color. The staircase token of a different color is turned over and placed in its place, with the neutral side facing up.
The player collects as many ruins as they have collected tokens and builds a tower: they stack all the elements they have collected on the base of the same color as their tokens. If the player manages to place everything without anything falling, they win as many gold coins as they have placed ruins on the board.
If the player knocks a piece over, their turn is over and they win nothing. When there are no more staircases, the game ends and the player with the most gold coins wins.
Castel Boom is a game of skill: the taller the towers, the greater the risk of collapse. But it is also a game of memory: in order to collect as many staircases of the same color as possible, players must remember the location of the staircases that have already been turned over.
