Bombs Bursting In Air, a high-tension noir aboard Prospero's Dream station
Bombs Bursting In Air is a noir-style investigation adventure for the Mothership Sci-Fi Horror RPG, expanding on the setting of Prospero's Dream, the space station introduced in the A Pound of Flesh supplement. The adventure begins when shore leave or a simple delivery job goes disastrously wrong: an oxygen shelter in The Choke, a vital lifeline for the station's oppressed "Doptowners," is bombed, and the crew is framed for it.
To clear their names and survive the station's ruthless justice, players must navigate a web of conspiracy, investigate the crime scene, and find the real culprit before they are hunted down. The module expands the setting with new locations in the lower levels and industrial zones, as well as new political and criminal factions, in a cyberpunk, noir, and industrial atmosphere that's "livelier and deadlier."
A sandbox investigation zine, compatible with A Pound of Flesh
Bombs Bursting In Air comes as a 44-page softcover zine (5.5" x 8.5"), with a color cover and black-and-white interiors. Designed as a sandbox investigation rather than a linear dungeon, it provides the Warden (GM) with NPCs, motives, and clues for the players to piece together.
While playable as a standalone adventure, Bombs Bursting In Air is especially recommended with the A Pound of Flesh supplement, and remains compatible with other Mothership Month 2025 modules.
