Concordia: Mare Nostrum, a new way to explore the Roman Empire
With Mare Nostrum, players experience Concordia from a completely new perspective. Traditional land routes between cities are removed, making maritime expansion the primary focus of the game. Merchants must rethink their plans and adapt to a new style of strategic development.
Maritime trade takes center stage
In this map expansion, Roman cities can only be colonized from the sea. Ships move through shared sea regions and enable the construction of new houses in port cities across the Empire. This creates a unique gameplay experience where control of maritime areas becomes a key element of success.
Additional strategic options on land
While standard city-to-city routes disappear, land units still play an important role. A separate area of the map introduces new strategic opportunities and complements the naval gameplay, creating fresh tactical decisions throughout the game.
A double-sided board for different player counts
The board features two maps designed for different group sizes. One side supports 2 to 4 players, while the other is optimized for 3 to 5 players, ensuring balanced and engaging games regardless of player count.
Compete for the favor of the Roman gods
As in the original game, victory is achieved by earning the favor of the Roman gods through careful planning, trade, expansion, and efficient use of cards. Mare Nostrum preserves the elegant gameplay of Concordia while offering experienced players a fresh strategic challenge.
