Each player takes on the role of a military commander tasked with developing Sifnos’s defenses, expanding their influence over the island’s mineral resources, and preparing the population for the pirate invasions that will punctuate the game.

Following the invasion of Samos, the Greek inhabitants of Sifnos sought to better defend their mineral-rich territory. Over the course of several centuries, they built a network of more than seventy signal towers scattered across this small island.
This system allowed them to quickly transmit various messages and, most importantly, to warn of approaching sea invasions. Now is your chance to step into the role of an ancient Greek military commander! Prepare your people to face pirate raids by building towers, mobilizing soldiers, and investing in the future of Sifnos.
Your goal in The Towers of Sifnos is to earn the most victory points by the end of the game. Points are earned primarily by increasing your influence and successfully defending the mines of the island’s three main minerals: gold, silver, and lead. Players track their influence over these minerals on their game boards.
Several invasions will take place during the game, giving players the opportunity to prove their skill and power. After each invasion, either the pirates’ numbers will increase, or much-needed allied reinforcements will arrive.
