The “Third Battle of Kharkov” was the last in a series of battles in early 1943 between Germany’s Army Group South and theSoviet Red Army centered in the Ukraine. Field Marshal Manstein’s superb counteroffensive lead to the German recapture of both Kharkov and Belgorod. This fast playing Corps/Army game is chess like in the way it models imposing one side’s tempo on the other.
