Pike & Shotte Infantry Regiment plastic boxed set

Description

The seventeenth century saw the constitution of large regular armies, equipped and supplied by the state. Many units, but not all, were uniformly dressed for the first time, and formed in companies and regiments, then finally grouped into Tercios or Battalias. The formations on the ground can vary enormously depending on the situation. On the paper, a regiment may have ten companies of 100 men each, but in reality, because of the disease, losses and lack of money, the regiments were often smaller. The norm was to have two equal wings of musketeers on the flanks and a central block of pike armed with 16 feet spades. While the soft-fire musketeers slaughtered the enemy, the main role of the piquiers was to protect them from the cavalry. This box contains everything you will need to deploy an armed regiment of piquiers and musketeers of the time, that It was for the thirty-year war that ravaged Europe or the English civil wars where the royalists fought Parliament for the control of the country.
