A cooperative party game

Just One New Version is a cooperative party game in which players work together to discover as many mystery words as possible.

To get the highest score, you'll need to find the best clue to help your teammate. But be careful, you must be original, because all identical clues will be canceled!

Players must help one of the players guess a mystery word by secretly writing a clue on their clipboard. Without consulting each other, players think of the best clue to give to the active player. Be careful not to choose a word that is too common or too obvious, because only unique clues will be kept to help the player discover the mystery word.

At the end of the game, calculate your score based on the number of Mystery Words found.

How to play

A game is played in several rounds and ends when the stack of Mystery Words is exhausted. A round consists of 4 phases:

  • Selecting the Mystery Word: the active player draws a card and then chooses a number between 1 and 5: this is the Mystery Word.
  • Choosing clues: the other players write a word on their board to help the active player guess the word. Players are not allowed to consult each other.
  • Comparing clues: the players (except the active player) compare their words. They eliminate any that are identical!
  • The answer: the active player tries to guess the Mystery word using the remaining clues.

Calculating points

A game is played with 13 cards. The aim is to get as close to 13 as possible. For each correct answer, players score 1 point. For each wrong answer, they lose the card they guessed and the top card from the deck. They therefore lose 2 points. If no answer is given, players only lose the card they guessed, i.e. 1 point.
