In Habemus Papam - Gamefound Edition, enter the heart of the conclave, where tradition, intrigue, and ambition clash.

Your mission? Influence the election of the next pope by supporting a candidate whose characteristics match your faction's public profile (position on the Church, age, personality, and origin), while secretly pursuing a hidden agenda that may conflict with your stated goals.

The strategic use of influence is at the heart of the game. This resource has a dual purpose: influence is the currency that allows you to play powerful cards and influence the vote, but it is also your points, so spend it wisely. Each turn, you gain more influence by advancing your interests through candidates who garner broad support, but negotiation is crucial.

Forge alliances, eliminate threats, and outmaneuver your rivals to ensure your faction's dominance. Deduction plays a key role, as uncovering the hidden motivations of others can shift the balance of power.

At the end of each of the first four rounds, the conclave may declare “white smoke” (crooning a pope and triggering the final tally) or “black smoke,” signaling another round of intrigue. If no pope is elected after five rounds, the game ends with or without a pontiff, and the final score is calculated.
