Kopis: outmaneuver, outflank, dominate—every move counts...

With simple yet strategic mechanics, it pits two factions against each other in duels where every move counts. Its easy-to-learn rules (of which we offer several versions) combined with deep tactical gameplay make it an ideal choice for fans of strategy and mind games.

In Kopis, you must defend your strongholds while repelling incursions from enemy factions. You find yourself in a battle to secure your strongholds and surrounding colonies, providing safe havens to grow and prosper.

The warring factions must avoid being near enemy strongholds, which can cause danger and death to those around them—keeping in mind that these strongholds can be moved—while seeking to remain close to their own, in order to ensure the prosperity and growth of their territories. The score is dynamic, shifting from one turn to the next between the two factions based on the territory they control at that moment, relative to their proximity to strongholds, both friendly and enemy.

In our ancient gaming empire of Thargos, this game was played by warriors at rest who sought to exercise their minds rather than their arms, a mug of beer in hand and their friendly rivalry loudly displayed to all around them.

The flickering light of oil lamps illuminated the debates, and occasional jostling bumped into the gaming tables, but nothing could disturb the concentration of these sharp minds. Victory was essential...

A sturdy box with a linen finish and magnetic closure, a rubber/neoprene game mat, game pieces representing fortresses, citadels, and factions, stored in a high-quality foam insert, and rules in several languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Greek) make this game an essential addition to your collection.
