A re-release of "Tycoon" with a different theme and rule changes that make the game more challenging.

"El Capitán" is a completely new version of "Tycoon," revisited with a new theme and featuring many improvements and upgrades.
The game is now playable with up to 5 players (instead of 4), and 11 new rules have been added.

Among these changes:

  • New city groupings on the game board
  • 3 new distribution cards
  • New rules for forts
  • Starting money has been increased to 20 million florins from 15 million
  • 4 travel cards are revealed instead of 2
  • New rule for loan cards (not allowed in the first round)
  • New first player after a payday (a special first player marker has been added)
  • The number of warehouse buildings in a city has been reduced to 12 from 9
  • Limitation on warehouses built in series (limited to 3 now)
  • A rule for the first warehouse in a city has been added...
  • There is also a first expansion, "Portuguese Powers," in the game box with additional city signs and strategies!
The game also includes special rules for 2 or 3 players (additional renovation fields) and a special rule for 2 players (payday and additional warehouses).
