Since time immemorial, the Lazax had ruled the galaxy and its many races. Due to economic problems and growing discontent, the foundations of the empire began to crumble. Like deadly diseases, secession and discord spread, foreshadowing the dark times to come.
As the clouds of anger gathered, blinded by their past glory and made arrogant by millennia of supremacy, the Lazax failed to see that the situation was becoming desperate.
Then, without warning, a terrible blow was struck at the very heart of the empire. A Sol fleet, equipped with Jol-Nar technology and supported by the Hacan merchant tribes, launched a surprise attack on the planet that housed Emperor Lazax's seat of power: Mecatol Rex.
Within hours, the emperor was killed and his empire plunged into chaos. As the galaxy descended into civil war, the struggle for power on Mecatol Rex became a condensed drama of treachery, desperate negotiations, and the destruction that would soon engulf the galaxy.
