The caricature game

55 hard-hitting cards that place you in embarrassing situations: member of an extreme political group, creator of a new school of thought, or simply naked on a beach. Give your friends the opportunity to satirize you, revealing all your shortcomings, your little flaws carefully hidden for decades.

All they have to do is pick up their pencils and create a climate of self-mockery, sketching you with your cellulite, your rigid arguments, your tics of language and even your particular friendships. How can you have a sense of humor and keep a straight face? How do you take on the distorting mirror of caricature?

Do you have to know how to draw?

If you went to kindergarten, you can play Satyrik. A stick figure and a few words and that's it!
And can we hit back?
Of course you can! Because if you've been the target, the Black Beast, it's up to you to decide who's next.

And what's more, you have the right to reply: some caricatures are funny or touching, and deserve a Coup de Coeur, Humor or Creativity card.

Others are unpleasant, and you can modify them with your right to Censor, you can destroy them with Autodafé or you can pulverize them with a Kalash'. But you'll lose points and the sentence could be terrible.

But if you step back, take a deep breath, grant Freedom of Expression.
Why cartoons?
Sometimes it's hard to say things in words. So images are there to help us get a message across more subtly.

Satyrik's challenge is to test our ability to question ourselves, to perceive facts with fresh eyes, to change our perspective. But it's also about accepting to be challenged, and to challenge prevailing ideas, shake up certainties and confront reality.
