Description

Yonder Deluxe Edition: A Fantasy Worker-Placement Game with Exclusive Content

Yonder Deluxe Edition is a worker-placement and resource-management game designed and illustrated by Haakon Gaarder, published by Sinister Fish Games. In the game, players lead a group of fantastical workers—goblins, ogres, dwarves, elves, and skeletons—who have come to establish a colony on a distant shore, with each species possessing its own special ability to gather resources, grow food, and fulfill contracts for wealthy envoys.

What sets this Deluxe edition apart is the addition of exclusive content not found in the standard version: nine Building cards, six Envoy cards, and seven additional ships enrich gameplay, while premium components (metal coins, acrylic Arcane tokens) replace the standard cardboard pieces.

Setup and Gameplay

A game of Yonder is based on a worker-placement system where each type of worker offers a distinct advantage: goblins are suited for low-cost, repetitive tasks; ogres move large quantities of resources; dwarves excel at construction; elves excel at efficient harvesting; and skeletons are free from certain usual food-related constraints.

Players use their workers to harvest resources, travel between areas of the board using ships, construct production or scoring buildings, and fulfill contracts offered by Envoy cards—all while managing a limited food supply needed to sustain their workers.

Victory Conditions and End of the Game

The game ends after a set number of turns or when certain end conditions are met, according to the game rules. Victory points are then tallied based on the buildings constructed, contracts fulfilled with the Envoys, and bonuses specific to each type of worker hired during colonization.

The player who has accumulated the most victory points wins the game; the additional cards and ships in the Deluxe Edition simply offer more strategic combinations to achieve this.

Includes the bonus pack unlocked during the Kickstarter campaign.
