Play to your heart's content!
You've had enough. Tired of hordes of rogue heroes ransacking your tastefully decorated dungeon. So you put on your best clothes and set about completing your trophy room, with skill and meticulousness.
Today, dungeon lords on all four continents will fairly acknowledge that you have the largest and finest collection of adventurers from a wide variety of peoples, elegantly arranged in a setting conducive to meditation. Only the heroes are in no hurry to come and admire it.
Each turn, you complete your board by placing a card on top and setting another card aside. When one of your stacked cards matches one of the cards on your wall, you either score or lose victory points, or trigger an action.
In
Open Season, you win if you have accumulated the most victory points.
The game is played over 11 or 9 rounds, after which players score points. Players take turns playing clockwise, doing the following on their turn:
1. Fill the market with five visible cards.
2. Take a card from the market and place it on a free space on your board.
3. Trigger any bonus action; these three actions are associated with the top three slots of your player board, and you trigger one when you place a card in your reserve corresponding to a person associated with one of the three actions. If, when activating a bonus action, a new card is placed in your reserve, it can trigger another bonus action.
- All slots in the top row must contain different people and/or face-down cards.
- The two cards on either side of the “Different” symbol must be different peoples' cards and/or face-down cards.
- All slots in the bottom row must contain different people and/or face-down cards.
After nine rounds, the game ends and players count their points.
