Splendor, a game of resource acquisition
In
Splendor, you're the head of a merchant guild. Your goal is to grow rich and become the kingdom's most prestigious merchant.
Using gem tokens symbolizing precious stones, you'll acquire developments that will in turn generate new resources. You'll need to manage them to attract wealthy patrons, including the bloodthirsty Henry VIII. Obsidian, emeralds, rubies, diamonds, gold or sapphires, use your wealth wisely and enter the virtuous circle of prestige!
Splendor: simple mechanics, fast gameplay
With Splendor, you won't have to play endless games. Each round is fast-paced. Players have the right to perform a single action. The 4 possible actions are :
- take 2 identical tokens
- take 3 different tokens
- spend resources to acquire a development
- reserve a card for later use
But this simplicity doesn't stop this game from having a healthy dose of strategy. Observe your opponents, anticipate and reserve the right cards. The game ends when a player reaches 15 prestige points by accumulating nobles and developments.
