Magus is a solo role-playing game that takes you on a quest for power, ambition, and mastery of the arcane. But the cost of such ambition can be high.

In Magus, you roll a variety of different polyhedral dice to resolve events and follow the mechanical evolution of your character. Random tables generate spells and non-player characters.

Most importantly, you keep a journal in which you recount your experience from the perspective of your character: a magician who has just embarked on an insatiable quest for power.

Four traits (Focus, Power, Control, and Scars) determine how the protagonist overcomes challenges.
 After seven fateful events, the story reaches its conclusion. Perhaps the Magus will head to the Enigmatic North, never to be seen again? Or maybe they will renounce magic to lead a peaceful, bucolic life... unless they succumb to the call of the abyss and take innocent lives to increase their power.

Nevertheless, such power comes at a price: will you devote your last moments to acquiring increasingly powerful spells, or will you maintain the tenuous ties you have left with the world of mere mortals?
