The Heian period lasted from 784 to 1192. Japan at that time was ancient, mystical, and legendary Nihon, centered mainly around the capital Heian-kyo (now Kyoto). The supernatural played a central role. Folklore, superstitions, and early fantasy tales developed and permeated society. Historical sources and stories of legendary Japan became intertwined.
This setting focuses most on the magic and legendary aspects of Japan. Eiyu can experience fantasy-based adventures with a more heroic tone. They will encounter many yokai and kami. They will be able to use magical arts to fight against cosmic forces.
